Hot Stone Training for Yoga Teachers

HEATHER REED

Heather considers learning to be a life-long endeavor and has been on a quest for knowledge throughout her personal and professional life. Her accumulated wisdom, experience and creativity have brought her to a new phase of her life’s journey, fulfilling her purpose as a healer and a teacher of the healing arts. After concluding an earlier corporate career, Heather’s new path focused on healing and balance for the mind, body and spirit. She studied and graduated in 2015 with a diploma in Massage Therapy, which allowed her to start her own business. She completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT 200) in 2018, and with enthusiasm and excitement, she immediately began teaching Hatha Yoga classes in her community. Heather has continued her yoga teacher training by studying and becoming certified in Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra, which she regularly incorporates into her classes and related offerings. Building on her existing massage therapy skills, Heather also completed a certification in Hot Stone Massage. Soon after, she began combining the use of hot stones and yoga to bring unique class combinations to her students. She did so through the creation of themed yoga classes aimed to help deepen relaxation with the passive release of muscle tension using hot stones. Students quickly began to express their enjoyment of these combination classes, and thus, Hot Stone Yoga became her signature offering. Heather successfully continues to hold hot stone yoga classes and events where she most often pairs the hot stones with Restorative Yoga for some gentle and luxurious self-care, but also uses hot stones during Savasana, and in Chair and Hatha yoga classes. Heather believes in sharing knowledge, and she is truly excited to share her hot stone technique with other yoga instructors so that many more students can begin to experience the benefits. Her goal is to provide instructors with access to foundational training on how to safely incorporate hot stones into their yoga offerings, which will allow them to bring deeper healing and more variety to their classes. Combined with her depth of wisdom and experience as a Reiki Master, Meditation Teacher and Yoga Instructor, Heather has naturally integrated her knowledge of human anatomy and physiology from her massage therapy training into her online course: Hot Stone Training for Yoga Teachers. She has developed this training course to help interested yoga teachers with all aspects of Basalt hot stone use from choosing and purchasing stones, to heating, cleaning and maintaining the stones, to safe and confident placement on the body. Heather is excited to offer this easy-to-use, work-at-your-own-pace video course. She knows you won’t be disappointed in the new skills you’ll develop, nor in the added joy, healing and relaxation you’ll soon be able to offer your own students!
